Yes, that's right! I've been running around DA... watching people. Hurrhurrhurr.

But, silliness aside, I have a very talented artist featured below, that deserves more recognition. Certainly, the Daily Deviation he acquired may as well draw more people into his gallery, but oftentimes, I can bet that when people see a DD: they congratulate and comment (and often :+fav:), and run! It's a little like the "fav and run" phenomenon that some artists like to complain about.

And so, I'd like to feature this artist, and one of his works, and explain why I find his work admirable.

In regards to news about me and my works, I've got a little something coming up that may be uploaded today. I'm aware that I talk a lot about uploading new works, and never get to it, but that's because these new works I'm looking for are my in-the-middle-of-class monster drawings, most of which I will, sadly, need to hunt down again. ;_;

So, please, bear with me! And bask in some "scenery porn" while you wait!

UPDATE
Until I get this journal skinning thingcompletely worked out, it's back to the Flash-inspired skin for me. I've got plans for my own custom skin in the future, but now isn't the time for that. Anyways, I really didn't quite like how the "header image" in the other skin was so freaking HUGE. I'm working on a way to get all the code to work right, so it doesn't streeetch and force people to scroll down too much. Also, I updated my gallery with a little Plague Doctor drawing, although I think you all already know that. :heart:

~FEATURED ARTIST~

This Polish artist's atmospheric sci-fi work, "City Chase", was featured as a Daily Deviation on December 23rd. But, don't brush off his gallery images, as they are well worth looking at, and the DD is very well-deserved! This artist has the ability to see and effectively demonstrate the play of light and shadow in his artwork, creating a very real sense of depth and dimension.

His landscapes are very nearly photographic in their realism, yet they have the quirks of paint-strokes, and feature a sort of depth that photographs sometimes cannot portray.

Here is an example of one of Tiger1313's astounding pieces:

As many experienced in art may know, photographs can have a tendency to be "flat" when it comes to depth, making one's ability to work using a photograph a vastly different experience than working with a live model, be it a person or a bowl of fruit. Tiger1313's work demonstrates a sense of depth that is difficult to master, and is definitely worth watching. He also presents for some artists, such as myself, an inspiration for future artistic studies. No, do as I say, and take a gander at tiger1313's gallery!
